Why This Project Exists

After losing my son Max and navigating the stillness of the pandemic, I was able to step back and reflect. That space brought clarity—and the realization that what mattered most was my family. As I returned to the court with fresh perspective, I saw the youth sports world differently. The joy was gone. The growth was shallow. Coaches were chasing outcomes instead of building people.

That sparked something deeper. I started by asking how I could become a better father. That turned into how I could become a better coach. Eventually, it became a search for how to create environments where growth happens naturally, with purpose and adaptability.

The Max Potential Project is the result of that journey. It’s not about perfection. It’s about building better environments—for athletes, coaches, leaders, and organizations—to help people grow through challenge, not despite it.

Growth starts with the environment. These principles guide our work.

Design the Environment

Real development starts with the space we create. From the gym to the boardroom, we focus on shaping environments that pull the best out of people through clarity, challenge, and care.

Develop Thinkers, Not Followers

Success isn’t about memorizing the right moves, it’s about reading the moment and responding with purpose. Whether we’re training athletes or supporting leaders, we equip people to make confident decisions in dynamic situations.

Focus on What Transfers

Everything we do is meant to stick. If it doesn’t show up when it matters under pressure, in life, or at the next level, it wasn’t real development. We train for carryover, not just for performance.

Prioritize the Process

We don’t shortcut growth. We create opportunities to explore, reflect, and adjust. Progress is measured over time, and we stay committed to the long game.
